Air Methods receives FAA STC for Model 1275 Wheeled Litter System on EC135
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado, January 2006 - Air Methods Products Division is pleased to announce that we have received FAA Supplemental Type Certification for our Model 1275 Wheeled Patient Litter System for the Eurocopter EC135.
The 1275 Patient Litter was displayed at the 2005 Air Medical Transport Conference in Austin, TX. This new product was developed in response to customer requests for a wider EMS stretcher. Traditional aircraft patient litters are approximately 18 inches wide. The Model 1275 Patient Litter is 24 inches wide and incorporates additional new features such as folding side rails.
This new litter provides unprecedented flexibility and functionality to the EC135 EMS aircraft, yet at 81 lbs it weights less than any other comparable wheeled litter system currently available.
The 1275 Wheeled Patient Litter was STC approved through Air Methods Designated Alteration Station (DAS) organization.
The first aircraft equipped with this litter system has been delivered to Air Methods LifeNet Division. Six more EC135 aircraft are scheduled to undergo extensive completions over the next 12 months to include this new system.
This litter will also be available for the EC145 in the near future.
